Press Release
Citadines Roces Quezon City lit up more than just its Christmas Tree during its annual lighting ceremony that officially welcomed the holiday season. Titled “Yuletide Glows Under the City Lights,” the Christmas Tree lighting event of Citadines Roces Quezon City was held on November 18.
The gathering honored the rich Filipino tradition of weaving by featuring local merchants and the property’s beneficiary, Punique, which champions traditional women weavers who preserve the beauty of “puni,” or the intricate craft of folding and weaving palm leaves. The showcase serves as a reminder that an important part of our culture is woven from stories, heritage, and the hands of artisans who continue to keep these traditions alive.
To further celebrate the country’s culture and creativity, Citadines Roces Quezon City also featured Norman Peñaflorida, a renowned Filipino fashion storyteller. His works bring cultural events and theatre productions to life by promoting local fabrics. Sourced from indigenous tribes and communities across the Philippines, these materials, as shared by Peñaflorida, are vessels of the Filipino narrative and history.
After the program, guests were treated to an intimate dinner at Alejo Restaurant and Bar, where Chef Timothy Trinidad introduced a refreshed menu alongside his talented culinary team. Some of the dishes prepared and became crowd favorites during the launch were Crispy Pata Pochero, Four-Cheese Salad, and Salmon Coulibiac. The new culinary direction, inspired by family traditions and the warmth of home, resonated deeply with guests and diners.
