Join Marco Polo Ortigas Manila as they celebrate their 2nd anniversary with their first ever grand affair “Silken Voices, Silken Roads: An Opera Gala Dinner”
Enjoy the food, music and experience of east meeting west as the opera commemorates Marco Polo’s 24-year journey along the famous Silk Road.
Going back through time, Marco Polo Hotels started as a restaurant visited by mostly travellers. With that, travellers became the inspiration of the Marco Polo Hotels Group, having the explorer, himself, the hotel’s icon. The hotel was fascinated with the explorer for his enriching exploration along the Silk Road, discovering different countries and cultures. For Marco Polo Ortigas Manila’s second year anniversary, the hotel would like to look back and relieve this cultural journey that its icon has taken, in one delightful evening.

Consisting of three elements―music, culinary, and fashion, the musical gala night will highlight crafted-to-perfection musical pieces, dishes, and elegant creations. Featuring the grand voices of Francisco Aseniero, and Asia’s Got Talent runner-up: Gerphil Flores, the night will be a night full of discovery as the artists serenade the guests with selections from Lakme Bell Song, to Kashmir, to Turandot Liu Aria. Wander into famous and timeless Neapolitan songs, Funiculi Funicula and O sole Mio. The talented Philippine Opera Company, led by renowned director, Floy Quintos, will also perform with these artists, bringing the guests to different places in one night.

Marco Polo’s journey to the Silk Road would not be complete without indulging in a feast. Savory dishes will be served throughout the night featuring Marco Polo Ortigas Manila’s own rendition of the set menu based on Marco Polo’s journey. The guests is on to a rich and scrumptious journey starting with the finest cold appetizers from the West and the Middle East, Carpaccio and Meze. Executive Chef, Lluis Pesarrodona, will be reinventing the soul-satisfying Kebab Beef and Chicken, and pasta dishes. Discover the authenticity in Chinese food as Chinese Chef Ken Leung, with his 20 years of experience in Chinese culinary, brings you the richest Chinese Seafood there is. The classic night will be sweeter with servings of one-of-a-kind Italian Gelato.

Partnering with prominent fashion designer, Renee Salud, elegant and intricately-designed pieces will be showcased highlighting cultural interaction between the regions that were part of the Silk Route. These musical pieces, signature dishes, and sewn-to-perfection dresses will fill the halls of the Grand Ballroom of Marco Polo Ortigas Manila, on April 18, 2016.
